Molecular imaging methods are playing an increasingly significant role in drug development, creating a need for versatile and efficient methodology to introduce appropriate radiolabels. Ekam provides clients with custom chemical synthesis and radio-labeling for both the development of biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prospective studies on drug efficacy. Such capabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Expeditious synthetic procedures (less than 10 minute reaction times) that extend useable half-lives of radionuclides
- Direct installation of radiochemically functionalized aliphatic chains of varying length (including new molecular entities)
- Re-purposing molecules using different labels and add-ons
- Products free of toxic by-products and metals
- Highly efficient post-labeling clean up procedures
- Automation of the production process (e.g., flow compatible) with increased yields and lower costs
- Backwards compatibility with late state drug intermediates using Pd catalyzed reactions (Negishi, Sonogashira, Hiyama, Heck)
- Conversion of aryl iodides to fluorides (repurposing of SPECT ligands for PET)
- The labeling of proteins and antibodies
